There is nothing you can get from ANY paid textbook that you couldnt get for free: Khan Academy, Purple Math, Learnzillion, Illistrative Math, achievethecore. org, etc. You do know that any book that has been made to match the common core standards were intended to give teachers, parents and students an opportunity to have something they were familiar with. These books are not published by Common core. That makes this an invalid argument against common core. Though I will agree that the math community is trying to come up with textbooks that are able to better help students understand math in a new way and they havent been the most successful. Story problems are only frustrating when the story is hard to grasp. It is too bad you are willing to drink the kool aid and not do some reading for yourself. These women are asking you to go and read the contracts that Utah has signed. We WANT higher standards. Common Core is NOT higher standards.

This committee shall maintain such liaison as has been established by the Board of Directors with other organizations whose activities may be of interest to the members of this Society. This shall include the preparation of exhibits, programs and other items to bring the message of Respiratory Care and the Association to the medical, nursing and hospital groups, as well as educational facilities where use of such material can be expected to recruit new people to the field of Respiratory Care. This committee shall concern itself with the execution of a Society newsletter and all other publications of the Society with the public, hospitals and other organizations through dissemination of information concerning Respiratory Care. This committee shall ideally consist of one 1 primary and one 1 alternate representative from each Respiratory Care educational program in the State and an active member of the Society who will function as a liaison to the Board of Directors. The purpose of the committee is to actively integrate students into the Society's systems and committees in order to establish knowledge of the Society and express concerns of the student population. The internal organization, except where in conflict with these Bylaws, shall not be the concern of this document Each chapter shall be represented on the Board of Directors by the Chapter Chairperson and by one additional member regardless of the number of chapter constituents. Practicing members must be licensed by the IDFPR. Non practicing members may have inactive or non renewed status with the IDFPR.
